Global Warming

Climate change is changing the world around us and how we are living. Everything is effected by Global Warming. Global Warming is an increase in the overall temperature in the Earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increasing levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.
Sea levels are rising. The number of large wildfires is growing. The planet's temperature is increasing. Large ice masses, such as glaciers and ice sheets, are melting. More and more species of animals are becoming extinct. The air is becoming increasingly more polluted day by day. We are the cause of all of this.
We continuously keep chopping down forests and burning fossil fuels. Deforestation is a serious problem. If we keep cutting down trees and wiping out forests, there won't be any left. In order for us to survive we need the trees and plants. This is because they supply us with the air we breathe as a result of photosynthesis. So if there was no plants to do photosynthesis, there would be no more oxygen, which means no more us.

We have the ability to slow down the pace of global warming. We can reduce our carbon emission footprints. If we don't and continue to kill our Earth, it could be seriously detrimental to the human race and life as we know it.
If we continue to live this way, what will the effects be in terms of global warming? Well this is what will happen: the spread of disease will increase, there will be warmer waters and more hurricanes, increased probability and intensity of droughts and heat waves, polar ice caps will melt, rising sea levels, more floods, highly destructive storms and dangerous weather, desertification, tsunamis, cold waves, increased volcanic activity, more dangerous thunderstorms, migration, conflict, and wars, more outbreaks of deadly diseases and epidemics, loss of biodiversity and animal extinction, death of ocean life, more frequent animal attacks, and diminished food and water supplies. Now, that's a really long and pretty devastating list.

If we don't act now, our children and grandchildren will live on a completely different Earth than we do today. We have the ability to pass on a healthier, safer, and cleaner world.  We can reduce the speed of global warming by: driving environmentally-friendly cars, recycle, use less heat and air conditioning, changing to compact florescent light bulbs, drive less and drive smarter, buy energy-efficient products, using less hot water, use the "off" switch, plant a tree, use recycled paper, adjust your thermostat, take shorter showers, carpool when you can, conserve energy, wash your clothes on the cold water cycle and air dry, ditch the plastic, buy more organic foods and produce, and so much more! There is so much you can do to reduce the speed of global warming and carbon emissions.

  1. First impression about your blog post is amazing. It’s really vibrant with colors and pictures which attracted me to read this. I really like your introduction and also how it’s relevant it is with the three pics. One other factor is admired the fact that a lot of things you talked about in your intro and conclusion were similar to mine. For example, you mentioned “If we don't act now, our children and grandchildren will live on a completely different Earth than we do today.” I had like the same kind of thing for my conclusion, which I thought was neat. You had a call for change which persuades me when I read your blog. I will now agree on helping the environment and be a part to prevent Global warming from happening. One thing you could have done is put an anecdote or some information you saw in the movies in class. I would suggest that you should mention some interesting things that society may not know. For example, like how much money it takes per year to have your entertainment systems plugged, but not in use. Other than that, I really liked your blog post and all the bright colors you included with that.

  2. Okay, I don't like your introduction. Its so plain and boring. It feels like a bunch of miss-matched sentences. That, and in my head its like a robot voice is talking. It would've been better if you could have made the introduction more creative and fun to keep me interested. Your second paragraph is a bet better when it comes to the robot voice. But your second "paragraph" needs to talk more about the carbon foot-print. Talk about the greenhouse gases more, how we cause them, maybe even what they are. If I was a complete stranger reading this, and I wasn't educated to know much about Greenhouse gases or what makes them, I'd like to know what they are. As for the rest of your post, I enjoyed. I like how you talked about what would happen if we continue to live this way. All the destruction it would cause. As well do I like your conclusion. You talk about the different ways we could slow down the destruction of our earth. Overall, you have a nice post. :)

  3. Well my first impression about your blog was that the introduction seemed short and almost like sentence fragments. Thee information was kind of just being spewed out and there wasn't much organization to it. Don't get me wrong, the information was great, it just could be worded better. I liked how you progressed through the post with the factors becoming more and more serious if we don't change our ways. I also really enjoyed the visual parts of your blog post. The bright colors really grab the attention of the reader and keep them engaged. The pictures were also a nice add on. They flowed nicely with the article and added visually appealing effects to your facts. Good job with the article, keep up the good work on your blog posts in the future.
